Visitor Services Assistant

Position Summary

The Visitor Services Assistant is responsible for overseeing all customer service activities, registration, admissions and database management in support of Mt. Cuba Center’s public programs.

 The Visitor Services Assistant, also trains part-time Visitor Service support staff at the front desk and provides leadership in the area of customer service. The Visitor Services Assistant reports and reconciles deposits from admissions and overseas the processing of class and tour fees and on-line ticketing in coordination with the Business office. The Visitor Services Assistant  overseas and maintains all Vista/Ticketmaster™ database functions and provides mailing lists for marketing and email blasts. The Visitor Services Assistant is responsible for scheduling events, class and tour registration, Vista/Ticketmaster™ database support, credit card/e-commerce maintenance and reconciliation, event planning and occasional weekend and evening oversight. The Visitor Services Assistant will develop specific procedures for tasks that support the implementation of visitor services protocols and database management.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and 3 or more years of experience in customer service/database management in a visitor attraction, cultural institution or public garden.

Demonstrated self-motivation, excellent organizational and communication skills and attention to detail are necessary. Strong written and oral skills are important. The candidate must be capable of working independently and cooperatively with staff, docents and visitors. Advanced computing skills through knowledge of the Microsoft-based pc platform is required. Familiarity with software applications including, Vista/Ticketmaster™, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Access database is highly desirable.

Previous experience with visitor services, direct mailings and databases is highly desirable. A valid in force driver’s license is preferred.
