Fall Docent Training Notes 2012

Fall is a special time of the year at Mt. Cuba Center. It is a time of year when we enjoy the cool mornings and bright shimmering colors.   The sun light is softer but foliage color is intense.  We see the last of our pollinators busily collecting from the asters and golden rods.  If we are lucky, we will catch the sight and sounds of hungry robins swarming the dogwoods for a fall feast of berries. 

 

While on Tour please keep in mind the following:

• A temporary cut through path is created while portion of the Dogwood Path is under renovation.  This is a great vantage point to view mixes of Rudbeckia and Indian grass.  It is also a good vantage point to view the dogwoods from above – a view that we do not regularly have.
• Trial garden is delayed due to weather conditions and drainage issues.  The garden structure will be completed this fall and planting will occur next spring.  Our hope is to have the official opening by next spring. 
• The first of the coreopsis trial information is available on our website.  Click here to access the information.  We will upgrade the information on a regular basis.
